Jo Henton is married to Dan Henton, a pharmaceutical research chemist, and they have three adult children. Jo’s background includes work as an electro/mechanical draftsman, a technical illustrator, writer, editor, and supervisor of a technical documentation production group. She was a stay-at-home mom until her children were old enough to drive themselves to school. During those years, Jo was a gung-ho volunteer in her children’s schools and in para-church organizations (i.e. Crisis Pregnancy Services, Midland Habitat for Humanity, etc.) She also had a successful home-based desktop publishing business. When the children finally left the nest, Jo and Dan bought the town’s only used bookstore, and that’s been her baby for about 2 ½ years.
Jo was accepted into the Centurions Program for 2011, which turned out to be one of the best experiences of her entire life. Jo’s Centurion project is to develop a website targeting churches, church artists and church artist wannabes. She wants to use her skills to teach an approach to art from the Judeo-Christian Worldview and provide ideas and patterns for worship art. She also aspires to feature various Christian artists who are influencing our culture in a variety of fields. Jo is a natural encourager, and she hopes to inspire Christian artists to use their God-given creativity to help change our culture for Him.
